On February 22nd, 2015, Mr. Yohei Matsumoto,then Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Cabinet Office attended the tenth annual “Takeshima Day” ceremony organized by Shimane Prefecture and delivered an opening remarks.

４．Summary
Former Parliamentary Vice-Minister Yohei Matsumoto paid tribute in his remark at the ceremony to the consistent effort made by people including those in Shimane Prefecture who have devoted themselves to solving the issue of Takeshima. Former Parliamentary Vice-Minister Yohei Matsumoto stated that that the Japanese people need to join hands to solve the issue of Takeshima which is indisputably an inherent part of the territory of Japan. Former Parliamentary Vice-Minister Yohei Matsumoto reiterated that, with its firm determination to defend in a resolute manner the lives and assets of our nationals as well as our territory, territorial waters, and territorial airspace, the Government of Japan will continue its utmost effort to solve the issue of the territorial sovereignty over Takeshima on the basis of international law in a calm and peaceful manner.
