Former Minister Yamamoto’s visit to 3 ASEAN countries

From January 12 to 17, 2014, Mr. Ichita YAMAMOTO, then Minister in Charge of Territorial Integrity, visited Malaysia, Vietnam and Singapore, where he met with the relevant ministers as well as experts and media, with a view to promoting a correct understanding of the Japanese position on the situation concerning Japan’s territorial integrity.

Former Minister Yamamoto's visit to the Philippines

From September 4 to 5, 2013, then Minister Yamamoto visited the Philippines and held meetings with Mr. Del Rosario, Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Voltaire Gazmin, Secretary of Defense.

２．Summary/Overview

In each of the meetings, then Minister Yamamoto explained Japan's position on the situations concerning Japan’s territorial integrity.
Former Minister Yamamoto agreed with both Secretaries on the necessity to continue to stress to members of the international community that any attempts at changing the status quo through force or coercion should not be tolerated and that it is important to see to it that the rule of law is established as soon as possible in the region and in the world.
