Shooted from Takeshima battery / Toward two patrol vessels conducting a survey (Asahi Shimbun)

[Maizuru] At 11:15 a.m. on 22nd, the 8th Regional Maritime Safety Headquarters announced the result of a survey of Takeshima by its two patrol vessels "Oki" and "Hekura" as follows.
At 6:58 a.m. on 21st, we were shooted five times off the south of Takeshima from the northern battery on Higashijima (present-day Mejima), but the vessels have suffered no damage. Some 14 or 15 security guards were observed to be present on the island. Other facilities were the same situation as when surveyed on 2nd of last month. It seems that the South Korean side is permanently resident on the island.
