Each patrol lasts for one or two weeks. Except for the terms of special holidays for patrol guards returning to their base ports of Maizuru, Sakai, Hamada, Moji and other ports, they have to work all year round, including New Year's and the Bon festival. They repeatedly set out on special patrols to Oki, Takeshima, Iki and Tsushima Islands, and even as far as the sea area of Jeju, literally special patrolling around the Syngman Rhee Line.
