The Prefecture Aiming to Increase Catch by 2.5 Times

Shimane Prefecture plans to enter undeveloped fishing ground Shin-yamatotai (mid-ocean bank in the central area of the Japan Sea). The prefecture has allocated one million yen to conduct relevant surveys on which it will at long last embark from early July for approximately one month. The Prefectural Fisheries Department held the final meeting with the Prefectural Fisheries Research Institute on the 17th.

At the same time, in addition to lectures, a habitat survey of sea lions around "Takeshima," the treasury of the sea, which lies on the abolished MacArthur line, will take place. Shimane-maru from the Prefectural Fisheries Research Institute will conduct both surveys (text omitted).
