Content | A document showing that the boards for communicating the Proclamation which was issued nation-wide in Japan by the Shogunate, concerning the "Tempō Takeshima case", banning sailing for Takeshima (present-day Utsuryo Island (Ulleungdo)), was sent to Higashi-Hachiura in Hamada Domain and that the content of the Proclamation was noted. Going abroad was a serious crime, and thus sailing for Takeshima (present-day Utsuryo Island (Ulleungdo)) was banned. However, sailing for Matsushima (present-day Takeshima) was NOT banned. |
