About the Shindo Bank
(text omitted)
It has been known by recent surveys that the whole sea area including Takeshima and the Shindo Bank provide good fishing grounds for migratory fish, particularly mackerel and Pacific Saury. That is to say, many eggs of Pacific Saury and young Pacific Saury were caught during an ocean survey conducted at a point of 10 nautical miles south of Takeshima on May 28th, and an excellent result with a catching rate of more than 20% was achieved, a higher percentage than in coastal fisheries, in a mackerel longline fishing trial conducted near Shindo Bank on June 18th.
