Commemorative photograph at the time of incorporation
No protest raised by South Korea
While the issue of possession concerning Takeshima, an isolated island of the Sea of Japan, has become a dispute between Japan and South Korea, a photograph being strong foundation to give support to the fact that Takeshima is Japanese territory has recently been found. It was found in an album of Jinjiro NAKAI (52), an engineer of the Tokai Region Fisheries Research Institute of the Fisheries Agency, and it is a commemorative photograph taken when the then Governor of Shimane Prefecture Takekichi MATSUNAGA visited and inspected the islands in March 1905.
