ROK confusion with the "Takeshima Incident"? Recognized as Japanese territory in the Peace Treaty
Taking a stern view of the incident in which the Maritime Safety Agency patrol boat "Hekura" was unexpectedly shot at from a Korean fishing boat near Takeshima in Shimane Prefecture on the morning of the 12th last, the government lodged an unprecedented "strong protest" in a Note Verbale to the South Korean delegation in Japan via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the evening of the 13th.
