The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (of Japan) lodged a protest against the Government of South Korea concerning the Takeshima dispute on the evening of the 13th, and issued the following opinion of that "Takeshima is Japanese territory" on 14th.
(text omitted)
- Japan incorporated Takeshima into Shimane Prefecture in 1905 (before Japan's annexation of Korea), and no country has raised a problem about this.
- While the General Headquarters ceased the administrative authority of Japan over Takeshima by SCAPIN 677 (January 29th, 1946), the order clearly reveals that Takeshima is NOT excluded from the territory of Japan.
