Shooting incident in Takeshima
On the evening of 13th, the Government of Japan lodged a protest against the Delegation of South Korea to Japan over the shooting incident on 12th of which a South Korean vessel fired on a patrol vessel of Maritime Safety Agency near Takeshima, Shimane Prefecture.
The protest was sent in the form of a note verbale from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan to the Delegation of South Korea, in which the Japanese Government again clarified that Takeshima is Japanese territory and demanded a full guarantee to prevent violations of territorial sovereignty over Japan and illegal acts by the South Korean side in the future.
