Survey of Coastal Resources:
  This survey has been conducted continuously since 1953 as a commissioned project of the Government.
  Survey results:
1. (text omitted) Regarding fishing grounds, the operations have done intensively in coastal waters of Uotsuri Island from April until the end of the fishing season, while in the early fishery season from November to January operations were mainly conducted in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery Zone 534 in the central East China Sea, and the west of Uotsuri Island from March onwards.

Content A survey on the state of mackerel pole-and-line fishing with luring light in the East China Sea, targeting on ships entering Kagoshima Port, by the Kagoshima Prefecture Fisheries Research Institute commissioned by the Government of Japan (April 1961- March 1962). According to the report, the operations had done intensively in the area around Uotsuri Island in the Senkaku Islands from April 1961 to the end of the fishing season.
