The 5th navigation
... On the 8th (of June)... headed for Sekibisho, which we explored on the previous navigation, arrived there at 1 p.m. on the 12th, and caught 384 bonito and 99 mackerel tuna. Caught 145 bonito and 4 mackerel tuna in the same fishing grounds on the morning of the 13th. Due to a water temperature of 26.5-7 degrees, we have scanty numbers of fish strikes compared with the previous navigation, then, headed for the Sento Islands (Pinnacle Islands (Uotsuri, Kita-Kojima and Minami-Kojima Islands)). On the way there, while navigating through fishing grounds on the southwest of Sekibisho, we discovered shoals of fish on the 14th, and caught 957 bonito, 72 juvenile tuna and 9 mackerel tuna by fishing several times between 7 a.m. and the evening, (text omitted)
