  Notification from the Director-General of the Fujian Trade and Commerce Bureau/ June 18th of this year (lunar calendar), soldiers were dispatched from Min An Xie, and three foreign refugees were delivered. When questioned, they said that they were citizens of Kumamoto Prefecture in Japan, and their names were Yakita IZAWA, Iwasuke ARIKAWA and Ryo MITSUISHI. They had originally set out from their place of domicile with the intention of traveling to the Yaeyama Islands and transporting coal, but were caught in a storm on the way and were blown off course to Kuba Island, where they temporarily took shelter. / (text omitted)
