In the Okinawa Reversion Agreement, the Senkaku Islands were included in the area over which the administrative rights were returned to Japan.

In the Okinawa Reversion Agreement which took effect in 1972, the Senkaku Islands were included in the area over which the administrative rights were returned to Japan. All these facts indicate that the Senkaku Islands have consistently been an inherent part of the Japanese territory in the post-war international order and in accordance with international law.
