About Us

The National Museum of Territory and Sovereignty is a national exhibition facility located in Toranomon, Tokyo, and is operated by the Office of Policy Planning and Coordination on Territory and Sovereignty, Cabinet Secretariat.

The museum opened in January 2018 as a communication hub for promoting accurate understanding, both domestically and internationally, of the facts and Japan’s position on Japan’s territory and sovereignty, particularly the Northern Territories, Takeshima, and the Senkaku Islands. It relocated to Toranomon in 2020.
