Animated images are shown on three large screens to give you a real sense of the history of the Northern Territories, Takeshima and the Senkaku Islands.

Immersive Theater

Natural scenery from the Northern Territories, Takeshima and the Senkaku Islands is projected onto the floor, walls and ceiling to create an awe-inspiring feeling. You can enjoy the virtual experience of flying through the skies above the islands or diving into the surrounding sea.

Digital Globe- Hands on Earth -

Using a large globe-shaped video device, this section provides easy-to-understand explanations of the content that should be covered in history and geography classes in Japan.

This section introduces the Japanese government's efforts and policies to maintain and strengthen a free and open international order based on the rule of law in the midst of increasingly severe international circumstances.

Cooperation and Collaboration with Local Museums

Throughout Japan, there are many exhibition facilities that conduct exhibitions or store exhibits about the Northern Territories, Takeshima, and the Senkaku Islands. The major facilities are shown below. The National Museum of Territory and Sovereignty also hosts traveling exhibitions several times a year. Here are past exhibitions.

Archives and databases

Efforts by the government and other organizations are underway to compile materials and build databases related to history on Japan's territory. We have been building a search system that allows you to search across these databases.
