　　Resolution regarding the Request on the Defense of Territorial Rights over the Senkaku Islands
　　The people of this prefecture are astonished by media reports that the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) has granted mining license to the US company Gulf, and has furthermore has even claimed territorial sovereignty over the Senkaku Islands, just when considerable global attention have recently been paid to the oil resources around the Senkaku Islands and the people of this prefecture have been highly expecting of the development of such resources. Hence, the Legislature of the Government of the Ryukyu Islands, following deliberation, requests that protest against the mistaken claims by the Republic of China be made and urgent measures be taken to have those claims withdrawn.
The above resolution has been decided.
