Collecting bird droppings from the Senkaku Islands An application from Japan
Higashino Kotaro from Chiba Prefecture in mainland Japan wants to collect bird droppings from Nakanokami Island and the Senkaku Islands, and has asked the Yaeyama Civil Government Administration as to its intentions in this matter through Captain Howe of the Trade Agency, who was visiting the islands the other day. The Civil Government immediately held a meeting of department directors and, as a result of their discussion, decided that the request will be accepted if the operation could be carried out under the control of the Civil Government, since the Senkaku Islands and Nakanokami Island are under its control.
