The persons above had been sojourning in the Yaeyama Islands in Okinawa Prefecture for some years, then on June 4th this year they set sail from Yaeyama in order to meet migrant workers who were on Kuba Island, whereupon they were caught in a storm and washed ashore in Pingyang County of Zhejiang Province in the Qing Dynasty on the 12th of that month, and received protection from local officials in that place.
