A normal gill net prepared using 7 sun (about 20.5 cm) mesh netting braided from 1-bu 5-rin (4.76mm) diameter hemp thread is spread at the location of a sea lion colony, the sea lions are caught in the mesh of the net and thus captured.

Content An application for a sea lion hunting permit submitted by Nakai Yoichi and two others, addressed to Orihara Miichiro, Governor of Shimane Prefecture. Of the applicants' names, Nakai Yozaburo has been changed to Nakai Yoichi and Hashioka Tomojiro to Hashioka Tadashige since last time. Because both of these are minors, the names of their legal guardians are also listed. Kato Shigezo remains as before. Permit duration: 5 years from June 1916 to May 1921. A handwritten transcript.
